Frank and Phil Gilardi started Freshway Foods in 1988 and the company has consistently grown from then on.
In 1992, the first new processing facility was built in Sidney, Ohio, with a second facility being added in 1996. In 2000, all of the business was consolidated into one plant, which today is more than 100,000 square feet. Today, Freshway's distribution includes over 60% of the U.S. population.
Over the years, Freshway has realized success and growth because it remains true to the primary goal upon which the company was founded, to exceed customer expectations through a team effort.
Freshway Foods is always looking to improve and find ways to better serve its growing list of customers. Our state-of-the-art facility embodies efficiency, flexibility, and the most advanced refrigeration and process technologies available. Customer orders are able to be processed with quickly and effectively, which further increases the usability of the end product and ultimately provides customers with even greater satisfaction.

Our facility is USDA Quality Through Verification-certified and also have Good Agricultural Practices policies in place, which trace all the way to the grower.Freshway receives numerous third-party audits every year – many of them unannounced.And finally, Freshway maintains an uninterrupted solid cold chain to guarantee the fresh-cut produce you receive is of the highest quality, every time.
