At Freshway Foods, we invest in education and training for our associates so that they will have the skills needed to produce the highest quality produce in the industry. Our associates receive extensive food safety and job training, covering such subjects as Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points (HACCP), Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and safe work practices.
Education Assistance Program
We support our associates who are interested in educational growth and career development through college course work. By participating in our Education Assistance Program, full-time associates can qualify for tuition reimbursement on coursework that is completed at the college or university of their choice.
Wright State University Partnership
Freshway Foods has partnered with Wright State University to develop curriculum for a Certificate in Food Systems Management. The program offers a variety of courses, from Food Microbiology and Food Chemistry to Management topics such as Personnel Management, Business Finance, and Leadership. Key members of our operations team have the opportunity to earn the undergraduate certificate, attending classes at our headquarters in Sidney, Ohio, and at Wright State’s Lake Campus in Celina, Ohio. The courses are tailored to allow opportunities for our associates to upgrade their technical and leadership skills in their current jobs. After completing the program, our associates have the option to continue their education at Wright State University and receive an Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree.
